Chanel’s new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Makeup is a fantastic update to their foundation line. It’s been revamped significantly, becoming a different product altogether. I didn’t review the original Healthy Glow foundation because, to be honest, it didn’t impress me much. My personal favorite was the Perfection Lumiere Velvet, which has now been discontinued. It delivered a flawless finish with just the right amount of glow, unlike the original Les Beiges, which offered similar coverage but didn’t blend as seamlessly.
Now, the reimagined Les Beiges comes in twice as many shades. It feels refreshing where the original sometimes felt a bit heavy. The new formula is sheer, buildable, and elegant—it looks like part of your skin rather than sitting on top of it. It’s also significantly more hydrating. While it’s not as moisturizing as Pat McGrath’s or Estée Lauder’s Futurist, it’s getting there. When applied over a rich moisturizer, it appears dewy and lively without slipping away in oily areas. This new version captures the balance between a tinted moisturizer’s natural look and a semi-velvety foundation’s coverage.
Using a flat-top kabuki-style foundation brush, I applied a light coat of the Healthy Glow Makeup. It flawlessly perfects the skin, leaving a natural, healthy shine. The glow is subtle and natural, not over-the-top. The coverage is on the lighter side of medium, but you can build it up without it ever looking cakey.
With this new formulation, the finish is refined and chic, slightly veiling imperfections while evening out the skin tone with a hint of glow. This foundation review came easily to me because Les Beiges was a delightful surprise from the first application. It’s nothing like my old favorite, Perfection Lumiere Velvet, but it’s a worthy successor.
A practical note: the new Les Beiges Healthy Glow does not contain SPF. I actually prefer this since I usually wear a separate SPF beneath my foundation. For those who rely on foundation for sun protection, adding a sunscreen step beforehand is simple enough. Without SPF in the makeup, the formula feels lighter and more elegant.
So to sum up, the changes in this new formula are vast. It’s more hydrating, lightweight, and has a sheerer finish with a dewy glow. There are over twice as many shades available, and the packaging is slightly different. I believe this foundation will suit most skin types, including oily skin if paired with a primer in problem areas. It’s not greasy, so those with dry skin will appreciate it, as well as anyone looking for a subtle, sophisticated foundation that works effectively yet discreetly.
I currently wear shade B30 but will switch to B20 during the winter as my tan fades. I usually wear a hydrating serum and moisturizer beneath this foundation—using a cream that’s too rich can make it a bit slippery, and I find I never need to set it with powder. You can purchase the new Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow foundation for £41, but be careful not to confuse it with the old version, which has SPF25.
