I finally moved Baby Ted into his own room, which means I got my bedtime routine back. When a baby is sleeping in your room, it’s not a good idea to switch on the light after they’ve dozed off. This makes finding your glasses to read almost impossible, since you can only rely on your phone’s flashlight so much.
Now that I can once more use my bed for relaxation, I find myself happily returning to my pre-sleep beauty routine. I’ve started stacking night creams and masks on my book pile again, ready to use before drifting off to sleep. Mr. AMR, however, does wish I would be tidier about it.
At the top of my current beauty pile is L’Oreal’s new Revitalift Filler Hyaluromask. This refreshing, lightweight gel is infused with tiny beads of hyaluronic acid, which burst as you rub the mask into your skin. The result? Your face looks smoother and lifted, with fine lines and wrinkles plumped out.
L’Oreal’s Hyaluromask is much lighter than their Revitalift Laser Renew Cream-Mask, another favorite overnight mask of mine. It absorbs quicker, making it perfect for when you need quick results. You can use it in two ways: apply a thin layer on clean skin and massage it in for a quick-fix, or leave it on overnight for a deeper treatment. Personally, I like applying a generous amount before bed. It’s not sticky or messy, and by the time I’m ready to sleep, there’s hardly any residue.
If you’re seeking a quick, non-invasive boost to make your skin appear plumper and fresher, hyaluronic acid is fantastic. It’s a molecule known for holding up to a thousand times its weight in water, naturally found in the skin. I often compare it to nappies; they soak up water and expand, making skin look fuller. While face creams aren’t a substitute for cosmetic procedures, I’m not fond of needles and surgery. Therefore, I’m all in for whatever makes a visible difference, and hyaluronic acid consistently delivers results, especially when layered with other products.
Returning to the Revitalift Filler Hyaluromask, remember two things. First, make sure to massage it in thoroughly to burst the beads. Simply smoothing it over your skin isn’t enough. Secondly, if you’re using it before putting on makeup, remove any residue to avoid pilling. I usually leave the mask on for fifteen minutes, then use a damp cotton pad to clear any residue before applying moisturizer and SPF. People with oily, dehydrated skin will enjoy how it hydrates without feeling greasy. Meanwhile, those with dry skin may want to layer up after the mask for added moisture.
The L’Oreal Revitalift Filler Hyaluromask is available at Superdrug for £13.29. For a richer, more comprehensive anti-wrinkle treatment, check out the Laser Renew Cream-Mask.
