This season, there’s a big trend for large, fluffy teddy-bear coats and faux furs. I have to admit, even though I’m not usually into clothes that grab a lot of attention, there’s something comforting about these big, soft coats. They make you feel powerful and confident instead of awkward. It’s like when a peacock spreads its feathers or a cat puffs up its fur, they boost your presence and make you feel more assertive. This trend works for me—it’s not overly revealing or wild, yet a big fluffy coat can really complete an outfit and make it seem like you put a lot of thought into it.
I love this teddy-bear and furry coat trend so much that I gathered the season’s best and took a trip to the seaside to film a fashion lookbook. The De-Fur coat is super large, shaggy, and incredibly cozy—almost like staying wrapped up in your bed! It stands out and might just be my favorite among all the coats I tried on that day. I think teddy coats and faux furs will be my go-to outerwear for winter. They’re warm, cheerful, very comfortable, and look as fashionable with jeans and Converse as they do over an evening dress. You can find the Fire & Ice jacket at Hush for £180. If you’re after an “investment” jacket this year, these are definitely worth considering; they offer great quality without breaking the bank. The De-Fur is more of a trendy piece, but the Fire & Ice has a timeless, retro feel to it.
For sizing, the De-Fur is roomy, and a size “small” fit me perfectly (I’m a solid UK10). The Fire & Ice in “small” was a bit tight in the chest area for me, so I would recommend a “medium.”
