I’ve created a wonderful video with John Lewis focusing on autumn skincare and how to enhance your routine with some special beauty treats as we brace for the colder months. While you can watch the video for more details, I wanted to briefly go over the products since some are relatively new to me, and I love a good mini review!
John Lewis has curated a fabulous selection of luxurious beauty products covering nearly every skincare step, plus a little SOS solution for those challenging skin days. Here’s what was in the lineup:
1. Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser: This cleanser has been revamped with a new, mineral-oil-free formula. The original version is always a hit, but the Gel Balm, featuring a convenient pump and silky texture, takes things to the next level. It effectively removes makeup, is easy to wash off with a cloth, and doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry.
2. Lancôme Absolue Precious Cells Rose Lotion: Essences are gaining popularity in the UK. They slot into your routine pre-serum and post-toner, offering a lightweight hydration boost if your skin is feeling a bit battered by the weather. This particular essence feels luxurious, thanks to its rose petal extracts and elegant glass bottle.
3. Clarins Double Serum: My mom has been a devoted user of this serum since it launched, and her enthusiasm finally rubbed off on me. The comprehensive formula tackles dehydration and fine lines while promoting a more even and toned appearance. The new formula is free from mineral oil, and there’s a new lid selector that lets you dispense a full or half dose – handy if you’re in a hurry!
4. Origins Three Part Harmony Day and Night Eye Cream Duo: This duo features a lighter cream for daytime and a richer one for nighttime. The two have noticeably different effects, with the night option being my favorite. But using the day cream afterward is no chore as it refreshes my always-tired eyes.
5. Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream: Fresh is a delightful beauty brand that was once hard to find but is now available at John Lewis. The Vitamin Nectar range aims to brighten and rejuvenate tired skin, and its fragrance is so enticing that you might think about eating it (but don’t!). The face cream is hydrating yet lightweight and non-greasy, making it ideal for layering over serum. I used it regularly in the lead-up to the John Lewis shoot, giving my stressed skin some much-needed care.
6. Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultra Recovery Booster: This is the little extra I hinted at before. The Ultra Recovery Booster is a calming serum you can either mix with your face cream or apply directly to your skin. It delivers essential fatty acids and anti-inflammatory ingredients to soothe and repair. It’s perfect for combating the typical challenges of autumn, with central heating indoors and chilly winds outdoors.
7. Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask: Lastly, the face mask that almost looks edible—trust me, it’s not! It’s like applying a heavenly citrusy jam to your face, though technically more like marmalade. The mask leaves your skin noticeably revitalized after rinsing, thanks to fruit acids that exfoliate dead cells for a fresh, glowy appearance. It’s a fantastic hangover mask! Just don’t be tempted to spread it on toast.
That’s it for these mini reviews! You can catch the full video with John Lewis for more, and I’ll be back soon with more skincare insights.
