I’ve been thinking a lot about pajamas lately. I’m in the market for new ones—just the bottoms, though. I’m not ready to go full-on shirt-and-trousers yet, not before 70. Although I joke about it publicly, I actually do like matching sets. I had to admit that, or my mom would call me out in the comments and reveal how many pajama sets she’s bought me that I truly enjoy wearing.
In the picture above, I’m sporting my all-time favorite sleepwear combo: a pair of “antique” bottoms from Hush and a comfy sweater. These are my go-to choice, but they need a wash now and then (usually around birthdays and Christmas, ha-ha). So, I need to find a backup pair. Here are my top contenders for pajama bottoms this fall.
1) The Plaid Pajama Bottoms from Hush for £30. They look wonderfully soft, based on my past Hush buys! You can check them out along with a range of other great options. These might be my favorite, but read on if you’re curious.

2) Don’t tease me, but I’m aware that I’m about 15 years past the age for “varsity” style clothes. Still, these trousers look super comfy, and they’ll only be worn in the bedroom, so who cares? Lucky Mr. AMR, right? These are available at ASOS.
3) There’s a lovely pair from Elle McPherson that I really like. Unfortunately, they’re hand-wash only, which means I’ll likely end up boiling them in the hot wash with the sheets, as usual. My latest casualty to the hot wash was a pair of cashmere bedsocks—they’re now suitable only for a tiny baby or a big cat.
4) Once more, don’t tease me. There’s nothing wrong with a touch of 1990s CK waistband nostalgia! Did anyone else beg their parents for the women’s Calvin Klein briefs back when they first hit the stores? Ladies’ underwear that resembled men’s boxer shorts! They were too pricey, so I couldn’t have them. Ah, the nineties. Relive them by checking these out.
Feel free to add more suggestions in the comments—I’m always open to new ideas.
