Here’s a quick beauty post to take a break from all the contact lens talk. I’ve been diving deep into eye topics, and with a few more laser eye surgery articles on the way, who knows what else I’ll explore next? Maybe sunglasses or lash growth serums? The possibilities are endless!
Anyway, I thought I’d share some items that are almost always in my travel bag. They’re handy and help save space. Most of my trips are domestic and last a night or two, so it’s a fun challenge to see how compact I can pack. Fitting everything into a large handbag, like an extra pair of underwear, a cotton nightdress, and some toiletries, makes me feel like I’ve won the packing game. There’s a video later for those who like to listen while doing chores.

Elizabeth Arden Retinol Capsules
These capsules are real space-savers. Just toss two in your makeup bag, and your skincare routine is sorted. They come in different types like Vitamin C, Retinol, and Hyaluronic Acid, so there’s something for everyone. I love them, and the retinol ones are currently on a special offer here.
Sali Hughes Daily Exfoliant
This gentle daily exfoliant is a new addition to my travel bag. It gives your skin a nice glow and helps keep it clear. The large bottle is an excellent value. Available online here.
Soft Silicone Ear Plugs, Noise Cancelling
Not exactly a beauty item, but these silicone ear plugs are great for muffling ambient noise when I’m working on a train or in a hotel bar. They’re much cheaper than the Alpine ones I use for sleeping. Check them out here.
Le Labo Santal 33
Possibly the priciest travel mini ever, but it’s my go-to perfume. I recommend buying a bigger size and refilling it, as it’s one of the most exquisite scents I’ve encountered—warm, woody, and subtly smokey. It’s available at Liberty here.
Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oils
You only need to buy these minis once to figure out your favorite blends. Then, get a full-size bottle and have luxurious, spa-like bath moments anytime. I’ve been a fan of AA oils forever—Deep Relax and Equilibrium are my top picks. These small bottles are great for travel, and you can refill them at home. Find the discovery set and full sizes here.
For foundation, I use the Sisley Phyto Teint Nude in shade 2N, available here. The Elf contour wand in medium is another favorite of mine, which you can find here.
