I’m not sure if I’m technically allowed to call Uniqlo’s Heattech range “thermals” since they function differently from traditional thermal underwear. But you know what I mean—it’s the kind of underwear that keeps you really warm. The Heattech fabric is different because it’s super thin and lightweight, making the vests and long-sleeved tees really convenient.
The latest additions to the Heattech collection feature designs by Orla Kiely. Some of you probably guessed the designer as soon as you saw my top in the picture. Contrary to what Mr. AMR thinks about me looking like a moving sheet of wallpaper, I actually enjoy the cheerful design peeking out from under my sweater. Honestly, I don’t mind if I resemble a bedroom wall from the seventies—I’m warm and happy, and that’s what counts!
There are quite a few different Orla Kiely designs, and they definitely add some fun to the underwear drawer. It’s always good to have a plain black or white version, but the patterned ones are much easier to spot when you’re tired and grumpy in the morning. I’m crossing my fingers for some Liberty print options in the future.
Orla Kiely long-sleeved Heattech tees are £12.90 at Uniqlo.com, and the shorter-sleeved t-shirts and vests are priced at £9.90.
