This collection, although not brand new, is quite revolutionary, offering a fresh and possibly life-changing approach, especially if you’re someone who prefers using fingertips over brushes to apply makeup.
Trinny London’s products are specifically designed for fingertip application, making them all cream-based. This method works wonderfully because the heat from your fingers helps melt the cream, allowing for easy blending and giving a fresh, beautiful finish when the products are well-formulated. The entire range, from foundation to cream eyeshadow, feels rich, has excellent pigmentation, and is effortless to apply. They possess that elegant, sheer quality that’s often missing in other cream products, providing a subtle hint of color rather than overwhelming glitter or bold lines.
The shades themselves are sophisticated and neutral. While browsing their options online, it might seem like some products look similar, but it’s those subtle differences that make the collection special. This allows you to find shades that perfectly complement your skin and hair tone, with the right formulation for each area of the face you want to enhance—whether it’s your eyes or lips, each with different textural needs.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the range. Although makeup application without brushes might not appeal to everyone, for those who enjoy a quick swipe on-the-go, this line is ideal. Plus, the products are perfectly portable—compact enough to fit in your bag, and the pots interlock to form stacks for easy carrying. However, I think it would be even better if the shades and product names were visible from the side for quicker access.
As for my top picks, I highly recommend the cream eyeshadows, cream blush, and surprisingly, the foundation/concealer called Just a Touch. It effectively covers dark circles with a little layering and can be blended outwards with fingertips for a natural, light base only where you need it.
While testing the products, I used the foundation as a concealer, tried two Eye-to-Eye shadows, and applied a cream bronzer along with my favorite cream blush from the range, Electra. The blush even worked well as a lip tint, though it was a bit matte for my liking. Still, the blush lasted throughout the day, and the eyeshadows performed excellently. For a night out, I found that applying a powder shadow over the cream shadow base enhanced the look nicely.
The only challenge I faced was with the cream bronzer; using my fingertips made it difficult to get that perfect sun-kissed coverage over larger areas. However, many people seem to manage well with it.
You can explore the Trinny London range online. I once enjoyed a fun hour in Trinny Woodall’s unique Trinny Taxi, where we filmed a four-minute makeup challenge, which is definitely worth watching if you’re interested.
