Every few months, I love taking a fresh look at what’s inside my makeup bag, and wow, do I have a fantastic one! I recently discovered the Flat Lay Co’s makeup bag, and it’s genius. If you’re someone who doesn’t have a permanent spot for makeup, like me, you probably use a large toiletries bag that you have to dump out every time to find that tiny essential item, like a Q-Tip or a hair clip. Well, say goodbye to that hassle because the Flat Lay bag spreads everything out for easy access and then quickly gathers it all back up with a simple pull of the cord.
I stumbled upon this game-changing bag through Emily Johnston on Instagram and ordered a leopard print version almost instantly! There are many versions available on ASOS and FeelUnique. I’ve even got my eye on a tiger print one now!
What’s inside my bag, you ask? There are some familiar favorites like the Code8 Radiate Balm and Chanel’s Les Beiges foundation, but I’ve also been trying out a new bronzer, which I talk about in my video. My recent mascara obsession is in there too, along with two amazing cream products: Trinny London’s eye2eye shadow and Beauty Pie’s cream blush. Both are comfortable, long-lasting, and they don’t crease or settle into lines. They simply add a soft, flattering touch that lasts all day.
The Trinny shadow I’m showing is in the shade “Fortune,” but there are many lovely colors available. I prefer those with a bit of sheen, as they effortlessly illuminate the eyelids with minimal effort. These cream shadows are online for £18 and have become a staple in my makeup routine.
The cream blush in Freshfaced might just be my favorite. It’s a soft, creamy blush that can be applied with a small brush or just your fingertips, offering a lovely coral-pink flush that revives tired-looking skin. There are several shades to choose from, and you can find them all online. With the code RUTHSENTME, you get an extra £50 spending allowance when signing up to Beauty Pie, where the members’ price for the cream blushers is just £7.32.
