It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any real fashion modeling, mostly because being heavily pregnant limits you to wearing tent-like clothes, and the postpartum phase is pretty much a fashion nightmare. So, it felt great to dive back into things with a photo shoot for AND/OR, a fresh denim brand.
AND/OR has a cool vibe inspired by Los Angeles, bringing to mind sunny streets lined with palm trees and those effortlessly stylish women you spot wearing jersey tees and denim, yet looking like a million bucks. That’s exactly my style. Picture this: denim shorts paired with a chunky sweater and chic ankle boots—it’s very Coachella-after-dark.
Their jeans are made from authentic denim, designed, washed, and sewn in LA, capturing a laid-back, outdoor lifestyle that’s a bit tough to enjoy with Britain’s typical 362 rainy days per year. The collection features four main styles: the Abbot Kinney Skinny, the Venice Beach Boyfriend, the Silver Lake Straight, and the Avalon Ankle Grazer, which I’m wearing in the shoot.
I’m definitely a jeans enthusiast. No matter how much I try to revamp my wardrobe or step out of my fashion comfort zone, jeans are my go-to staple. They’re my starting point for almost every outfit, whether paired with ballet flats and the laid-back “French Girl Hair” or dressed up with daring heels for an evening outing.
One of my favorite ways to give my evening look a little boost (notice the sarcastic quotation marks!) is to swap ballet flats for high heels, let my hair down, and add a splash of lipstick or gloss. As shown with the Avalon Ankle Grazers, a super soft charcoal top, and eye-catching heels for a touch of drama. These particular heels, known as the Bandra Embellished Courts, have cool tassels on the back. The Avalon jeans are incredibly soft and stretchy, as are the Abbot Kinney Skinnies, offering a comfortable fit with a good structure that provides support and shape, unlike cheaper jegging fabrics.
This summer, my go-to outfit will likely be the AND/OR Shirt Dress, a must-have throw-on piece. It’s simple, comfy, and effortlessly chic. You can glam it up with oversized sunglasses or keep it laid-back with flat sandals. And I’m totally into tassels now after this shoot, especially the amazing Levina sandals. The shirt dress has a flirty cut, much like those stylish magazine shots of women in oversized men’s shirts with tousled hair.
