MY SPRING SHOPPING LIST FOR SKINCARE ESSENTIALS

MY SPRING SHOPPING LIST FOR SKINCARE ESSENTIALS

As summer finally winds down, I’ve been reflecting on the skincare products that have really made a difference over these past months. These have become staples in my daily routine, and as soon as spring comes around again, I’ll be restocking them without a second thought because they work so well, are easy to use, and feel amazing on my skin.

Honestly, I’m not sure why I’m waiting for spring, since these products are great year-round. But once winter rolls in and I spend more time indoors, my needs might shift a bit—perhaps less focus on SPF and maybe easing up on antioxidants for a while.

Here’s a rundown of my summer favorites, in the order I’d apply them in my skincare routine:

First up is Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Line Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum. It’s priced at £41 and stands out because it doesn’t feel like a typical serum. Instead, it has a smooth, almost velvety texture, similar to silicone-based products. It works beautifully under makeup and doesn’t irritate my sensitive eye area, helping with brightness and firmness. It’s convenient, potent, and the pump packaging makes it a breeze to use.

Next is Paula’s Choice Triple Algae Pollution Shield, costing £31. This is my go-to affordable antioxidant serum. It’s packed with ingredients to protect against environmental stressors. Just don’t overdo it, as applying too much can cause some itchiness. It slips easily under moisturizers and sunscreens and helps keep your skin even and strong. I typically use it in the morning.

The Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense Serum, at £85, also deserves a mention. I used it twice daily for a bit to tackle some pigmentation from spending too much time in the garden. It’s lightweight, absorbs quickly, and layers well under other products. Although it’s pricey, a little goes a long way—I’ve made a single bottle last about six months with regular use.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Sensitive Fluid, priced at £16.50, is my top summer moisturizer choice. It’s hydrating, oil-free, and feels light on the skin, making it perfect for hot weather. It’s great after removing makeup and SPF at night, especially for sensitive skin. This one is affordable and effective, especially if you have breakouts and need hydration.

Lastly, Elizabeth Arden Great 8 SPF35, at £36, might be my favorite product this year. It’s light, fresh, and practically invisible on the skin. It may not have the highest SPF, but it’s a pleasure to use. Its popularity often leaves it out of stock.

These products have certainly earned their place in my routine, adapting seamlessly as the seasons change. If you wish to see how they integrate into a full routine, consider exploring further into my latest skincare posts.
