I completely forgot that some of you wanted a closer look at the biker-style boots I wore in Miami. They’re from a brand called Durango, and they’re really fantastic. The leather is of great quality, and they’re built to be quite sturdy. Durango offers a wide range of styles, which can be a bit overwhelming at first with everything from colorful cowboy boots to simpler biker boots.
Although there’s no Durango store in the UK, there are stockists available (or check online options)—you can call 01302714192 to find the nearest one. Fortunately, if you’re buying online, they fit true to size. My boots, which are the brown harness style, are size 8M, equivalent to a UK6. They do feel slightly narrow for a medium width, but leather boots generally stretch and soften with use, and these aren’t uncomfortable at all.
At the moment, my specific boots seem to be out of stock. Ironically, they now have the ones I originally wanted. Check out these beauties: the “Crush” Sultry Slouch Boot. They have a sexy little heel, nice metal toe-cap details, and the leather has a vintage, worn-in look. They’re gorgeous! The boots are reasonably priced at £98, and with import duty and shipping from the US, they total around £135. Compared to some boots I’ve purchased in London, which were twice the price and less comfortable, these are a great value.
I’m heading to LA soon and plan to find a store that carries Durango so I can try a few different styles. I’ll share what I find out. I might end up bringing back twenty pairs—maybe I should take orders!
The box the boots come in is quite over-the-top and brilliant. Months later, my cat still hides in it, and I can’t bring myself to throw it out. He actually climbs in, closes the lid over himself, and ends up trapped. So there you have it—great boots and a bonus cat toy!
