I think these “pony effect” leather court shoes from River Island are fantastic. I ordered them for a photoshoot and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality when they arrived. The leather is beautiful, the heel is securely attached, and the seams are neatly finished. I also love the black lining and the contrasting leather on the toe. The heel height is perfect—stylish yet manageable.
But here’s the catch: I ordered my usual size, a UK6, and they turned out to be way too small. I couldn’t even get my feet into them! So, I reordered in a UK8, which was a bit too big. I’m so fond of these shoes that I’ve decided to try a size 7 next. It’s all about trial and error!
These faux pony shoes look much more expensive than they actually are and would look amazing with anything from a little black dress to jeans and a t-shirt. The extra effort in finding the right size was definitely worth it. You can find them online at ASOS for £55, or you can get sizes 3-6 on sale for £30 at River Island.
By the way, the other shoe in the background is from Dune. I wasn’t too thrilled with its style, and it also seemed to run small. Let’s hope my feet aren’t suddenly growing, but I doubt it since all my other shoes still fit just fine!
