I’m really into these lacy dresses and skirts that are everywhere in stores right now. I’m not talking about those tight, bright-colored ones that look like they’d catch fire and itch. I’m all about the soft, romantic lace that reminds me of those dreamy seventies films—think white, cream, and nude tones that are both sexy and innocent.
There are some lacy pieces I’m really eyeing. Fortunately, two of them are from H&M, so I won’t feel too guilty buying them. I’m planning to try them on this week when I’m near a store because shopping online with them has been a hassle. It takes forever, and it’s hard to get actual help. Lots of items don’t arrive due to being out of stock, which is frustrating since I’d shop there more often if it were easier.
First, there’s this white skirt with a jersey lining. It looks luxurious, drapes nicely, and has a cool geometric hemline. It’s priced at £39.99. Then there’s this bodysuit that looks amazing when worn—as shown in the model pictures. I have no idea what I’d pair it with (maybe a tailored pencil skirt or underneath a dinner jacket for a night out), but I love it. It’s £24.99.
This stretch-lace dress from Maje sparked my lace obsession. I think I’m going to splurge on it, even though it’s probably impractical. It’ll probably get stained quickly, but I love its comfortable stretch and versatility—it can be worn casually with flats on a hot day or dressed up with sandals for an evening out. It’s priced at £290.
Once I’m done breastfeeding and my bust size is back to normal, I’d love to wear the delicate and pretty Millie bra from Stella McCartney. It’s half-price on The Outnet at £27.50, and there’s also a matching bodysuit if you like matching sets.
I know I’d never actually wear this ballerina dress from Alice + Olivia, priced at £465, but I still really want it. It’s like a childhood dream come true. I’d hang it on the back of my bedroom door just to admire it. I can’t think of any occasion that calls for a ballerina dress—maybe prom, but it’s pricey for a teenager! If I do find an occasion and manage to tone up by summer, I’ll wear it. On a side note, I just discovered Alice + Olivia, and they make incredible dresses. I’ve added them to my list of go-to designers for when I need something fabulous.
