Thanks to the readers of this site, I recently made a somewhat extravagant purchase. After hearing how much some of you love Wildfox, I couldn’t resist their super-soft sweatshirts. Wildfox is an LA-based brand known for its t-shirts and sweaters that have a luxurious feel with a fun and quirky twist. Officially described as “vintage inspired,” I find their designs quite original. Imagine a logo explosion in an ice-cream factory, and you’ll get the idea of their playful slogans and candy-colored fabrics.
Although it’s not my typical style, the “stars and stripes” top caught my eye as one of their more understated pieces, and I couldn’t say no. I first saw it on ASOS some time ago and have been thinking about it ever since—it perfectly matches my taste. The combination of faded Americana and the softest fabric imaginable? I’m sold. This is the kind of top I’ll keep wearing on my days off until it eventually wears out—hopefully not too soon, considering the price!
In my photo, I’m wearing it with my favorite cotton cargo skirt from Hush, some Supra trainers I borrowed for a fashion shoot, and oversized Polaroid sunglasses. It pairs wonderfully with blue jeans, and for those who love showing off their legs, it goes great with little denim shorts too.
This might just define my summer look for 2014. I’m tempted to rent a Translux and spend a few weeks driving around Arizona, singing along to music, having campfires, and watching sunsets along the way. The Wildfox “Firestone” Sweater is priced at £120 on ASOS.com.
