Finding a sunscreen that doesn’t irritate your skin can be tricky. Here are my top three picks that might inspire you. These options feel lightweight, blend effortlessly into the skin, and offer broad-spectrum protection.
One great thing about these face sunscreens is that you might not even need a moisturizer underneath, unless your skin is exceptionally dry. Usually, a quick application of a hydrating serum is enough before generously applying sunscreen.
If you’re into minimizing the number of products you use, the Lumene serum from my previous recommendations is perfect under sunscreen, especially as the weather warms up. I prefer keeping my skincare routine simple and light.
Here are my top three favorites:
1. Elizabeth Arden Great 8 SPF35
This facial sunscreen is one of the lightest and most refreshing SPFs I’ve come across. It absorbs quickly with no residue, making it a great base for makeup.
2. The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Lotion SPF50
This sunscreen is a recent discovery and a real find. It’s more hydrating than the Arden option, which gives it a bit more substance. It suits those with dry or very dry skin due to its creaminess. The lotion feels silky and leaves minimal residue after a few minutes.
3. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid
Also known as “Shaka Fluid,” it’s truly lightweight and sheer. It doesn’t have any greasy or chalky feel. La Roche-Posay has an excellent reputation for creating products for sensitive and acne-prone skin, and this fragrance-free, water-resistant formula is no exception. Just don’t forget to shake it before use!
There are also two extra sunscreens perfect for reapplying throughout the day without messing up your makeup. You’ll find more about them towards the end, as I need to rush and stop my dog from swallowing part of Spiderman’s Web Thrower!
