Weekly Showcase: Everything in Yellow

Weekly Showcase: Everything in Yellow

Even though it’s snowing and freezing in the UK, it doesn’t hurt to be a little hopeful about our wardrobe choices. Right now, I’m drawn to bright, spring-like colors, especially yellow. This newfound affection started with a Marks & Spencer shirt I highlighted last week. It’s a breezy, semi-transparent utility shirt, which I initially thought wouldn’t suit my blonde hair. However, it surprisingly enhanced my complexion and gave me a healthy look.

Now, I’ve developed a penchant for yellow, and here are some of my favorite picks if you’re looking to refresh your closet for spring. Just avoid pairing them with black unless you want to resemble a bumblebee!

1. Duo Stripe Pullover, £49 – & Other Stories: This sweater is wonderfully cheerful. I ordered it along with a ton of other items—perhaps a bit impulsively. Anna’s leopard jumper from her latest video was the catalyst that pushed me to explore their products, and before I knew it, my cart was full. Despite my frustrations with their quirky brand name, the quality of their clothes is undeniable.

2. Utility Shirt, £25 – Marks & Spencer: This shirt is where my yellow enthusiasm began. It’s a budget-friendly way to refresh your wardrobe for spring. It looks fabulous with light denim or tucked into a high-waisted pencil skirt.

3. Crepe de Chine Shirt, £450 – Stella McCartney: I included this option for those who enjoy spending more. I adore Stella McCartney’s designs, but I prefer the fit of the M&S shirt, which is a fraction of the price.

4. Nail Polish in “Giallo Napoli,” £22 – Chanel: Yellow nails aren’t the first color that pops into your head, but they garnered numerous compliments. I might try them again when I’ve got a bit of a tan—definitely a happy shade!

5. Grace Ankle Strap Shoes, £42 – Topshop: If you’re hesitant about yellow clothing, these stylish ankle-strap shoes are a lovely alternative. They’re quite sexy, with a retro touch, but the broad ankle strap keeps them from being dangerous high heels.

6. Rubber Tote Bag, £675 – Gucci: Here’s my wildcard for those who favor rubbery, yellow bags. Gucci’s retro designs are in vogue, and this tote definitely fits that mold. It’s perfect for the beach since it’s easy to clean or for those unexpected stormy days.

These yellow selections could be the perfect addition to anyone seeking a little sartorial uplift amid the cold.
