I’ve been sharing a lot about dresses lately, mainly because the sales are ongoing, and whenever I snag something great, it’s gone in no time. I thought I was ahead of the curve with the Luna and Lola dresses from Whistles, but now they’ve hit the sale too!
I have four Lola dresses and they’re my go-to for all occasions. My plain black one is a bit faded from frequent washing, tempting me to get another as a backup. However, the printed versions still look incredibly chic for virtually any situation.
Just last week, I wore the Sahara print Lola dress for a dinner outing with heels from LK Bennett. The next day, I paired it with sneakers for a laid-back exploration around Dartmoor. Correction: it’s actually the Geo-print Lola on sale, but the Sahara is also lovely, just a different pattern!
The relaxed fit of the Lola is exactly what I want in an easy-to-wear dress. The clever design makes it look structured, yet it’s versatile enough for evening wear or a trip to Tesco. The front’s a bit short when you lift your arms, but the back dips smartly like an oversized shirt, so you don’t have to worry too much.

The Luna dress is a new discovery for me. I wore the Cordilla print one to Wimbledon recently. Honestly, I can’t tell much difference between the Luna and Lola, which isn’t a bad thing. Both feature a relaxed collar, cocoon shape, great cut, and best of all, pockets! Maybe the Lola’s back hem is a bit longer?
Either way, it’s just as easy to wear as the Lola. It’s now part of my collection of clothes that mustn’t shrink in the wash. In just three minutes, I can throw it on with heels, slick back my hair, add a bright lipstick, and look perfectly polished.
Here’s the real deal about these dresses: they’re forgiving around the midsection thanks to the cocoon shape, while showing off the arms and lower legs, which are easy to prep. The upper arms are covered, nothing too revealing in the neckline, yet the overall vibe is effortlessly elegant.
