Cashmere, Frosty Days, and the Squishy Feline

Cashmere, Frosty Days, and the Squishy Feline

This post features gifted items, and some links are affiliate links. I’ve previously collaborated with brands like Boden, M&S, ME+EM, and Next, receiving samples and gifts from them. Here’s a cashmere collection for anyone considering investing in some before winter truly sets in. Though the so-called “big freeze” keeps teasing us with its unpredictable nature, it would be nice to know when to expect consistent seasonal weather. That way, I can gauge how long I have before I can enjoy springtime without extra layers at night. If winter is going to come, it might as well commit and snow us in for a few days.

Anyway, back to the cashmere. I’ve gathered some of the best out there—think vibrant stripes, prints, and color-block sleeves, rather than plain knits. These are the kind of sweaters you can just throw on with jeans and still look like you made an effort. You might just need a t-shirt or vest underneath, but all of these sweaters are soft enough to wear directly against the skin if preferred.

I do have a personal quirk, though—I tend to worry about overheating in just one layer. I once went to a meeting in a cashmere sweater without anything underneath and nearly fainted from the heat. I couldn’t take the sweater off as I didn’t even have a bra on—it was quite an ordeal.

Let’s talk about Boden’s incredible Celia jumper. They have a knack for adding rainbow stripes in unexpected places, like on the shoulders, which gives a bright and cheery vibe. It’s priced at £140, and you can often find discount codes online. The fit is relaxed and flattering, which is perfect if you prefer a looser fit around the tummy. It’s a fun and uplifting piece, also available in grey if pink isn’t your thing.

Then there’s the Made East Tina sweater, a standout from a recent sale – people who caught it then are probably thrilled now since it’s back to its original price. It’s truly top-notch, with dense yet soft knitting.

I’ve highlighted the Mix/J.Won roll-neck sweater before, albeit in another color. The block-colored sleeves give it a pop of coral, making it modern and fun. It pairs wonderfully with jeans, especially light denim, and it’s available at Next for £120.

Oh, and here’s me with Mr. Bear, my cat, pretending to escape, though he actually loves it when I hold him tight. He’s practically flat from all the snuggling but seems perfectly happy.

This animal print jumper from M&S is £99 and stands out as a great example of creative cashmere from high street collections. It’s softly knit and snug, making it ideal for tucking into skirts or trousers for a more styled look.

And let’s not forget the ME+EM Cashmere Zip Jumper. It’s reminiscent of the tracksuit tops from my youth but much more luxurious. I couldn’t help but accessorize it with a gold chain I found, giving me a throwback to the late ’90s. It’s quite fitted and not a typical hips-covering sweater, but it looks fantastic with wide-leg trousers or luxe joggers. It’s priced at £249 and is perfect for adding a bright touch as spring approaches.

For those who are loyal sweater lovers or live in cooler environments—how often over the past week have you skipped a cozy sweater? It dawned on me that I hadn’t opened my wardrobe for days, meaning I’ve been exclusively grabbing jeans, pajamas, joggers, and sweaters. No cardigans, just sticking to comfortable habits…
